Black Women in Health Leadership: Advocacy, Social Justice, Public Health, and Medicine

This panel from Brown University features many Black female leaders as they discuss different issues that impact the health of the Black community. They talk about their experiences with advocacy and social justice, and urge medical professionals to advocate for their patients at the different governmental levels. At 40:22, a discussion begins about how the COVID-19 pandemic disproportionally affects Black and Brown people, especially in regards to the vaccine distribution. The panelists detail the actions that they are taking in order to try and even the playing field using a variety of strategies such as partnerships and training staff to understand the reasons behind vaccine hesitancy.
